Development of Public Transportation
Experience of most foreign cities shows that in order to decrease the level of motor vehicle pollution an expedient policy of providing maximal comfort of the use of public transportation in order to encourage people to use public transportation instead of using personal vehicles.
For this purpose it is necessary to stabilize and develop the public transportation in L'viv. Recently there was an increase in the use of rather small buses for transportation of habitants of the city. The size and inefficiency of these buses cause inconveniences for passengers. The habitants of the city prefer to use their personal vehicles to drive to the city, which causes increased contamination of the air.
● Development of public electro transportation (streetcar, trolleybus,”ground express”, electric trains);
● Purchase of larger buses and other types of municipal transportation, which meet EURO-3 standards for cars with petrol and diesel engines.
● Development of bus parks ferrymen in introduction on buses and other types of motor vehicles which use gas fuel and filter soot and other anti toxic devices. Thus it is possible to attain deductions by reconstruction and social necessities through budgetary facilities from the city, that free oneself as a result of reduction of volumes of purchases of diesel fuel and petrol and reduction of consequences for the environment.
● Introduction of tax breaks for motor transportation enterprises and individual proprietors which have vehicles that use anti toxic devices, plugging additions in fuel; for city organizations, that use/sell cars or devices, that promote their ecological safety.
