Transportation infrastructure

Development of transportation infrastructure and perfection of traffic flow
The existing motor vehicles in L'viv contribute a large amount of pollution to the city. Due to the increase in traffic on highways as well as in the cities pollution is increasing. At small density, 10 cars per kilometer, vehicles burn fuel more efficiently and cause less pollution. When the number increases to 10-30 cars per kilometer, speeds are dramatically decreased causing less efficient use of fuel and more pollution.
Well organized transportation streams within the city will substantially decrease the pollution from motor vehicles. The quantity of underground passages and crossings causes many cars to idle and sharply increases pollution. Town planning is important because buildings can restrict air circulation and increase gases within the atmosphere. Therefore development of a transportation infrastructure and perfection of traffic flow within cities is one of the necessary steps to be taken to fight for a higher quality of air.
Measures on development of transportation infrastructure and perfection of traffic flow:
●       Development of a chart of the systems and separate types of transportation (chart of complex development of transportation in L'viv, road-bridge, buildings) with generalizations and use of basic decisions for the rise of ecological safety;
●       Development of a program that liquidates objects in the center of the city, related to freight transportation;
●       Planning, building and reconstruction of underground pedestrian passages, transport crossing and upshots;
●       Introduction of the automated system of road traffic control within the city.
